Trakstar Robb Gravett and Mike Smith 1990 BTCC Ford Mustang Liveries livery for the Gran Turismo Ford Mustang Gr.4.
Based on the 1990 Trakstar Ford Sierra RS500s driven by Mike Smith and Robb Gravett in the British Touring Car Championship.
The team had a tough year as although Robb Gravett took the championship the team was underfunded in comparison to their rivals.
As a result, the Robb Gravett livery is a bit of a composite taking in different decals it ran over the year as it seemed to change liveries at almost every round.
There are two Mike Smith liveries, one which was a fairly plain version of the livery used in 1989 and a plain white car complete with sponsorship from Scientology in the form of the Dianetics book. A few Rallycross and Rally cars also carried this sponsorship for brief periods in the era.
With the Group A period being my favourite period of Touring Car Racing the lack of cars from that period meant that I built a number of liveries based on the cars under the title of “Project Group A”. Principally as a way of forcing my Adobe Illustrator skills to improve and so I could pull in liveries of that period onto their modern counterparts.
